Adding new members and multiplying contacts is a very important mission for The National Association of Black Accountants (NABA.) In an effort to achieve those goals, representatives of NABA and current members of the organization from CW, organized an event to network and meet the new members.

One of the guest speakers was Nelcol Philip, a NABA member and currently working as controller at Cresa New York, an international corporate real estate advisory firm. Nelcol felt at home when she approached the podium as she graduated from CW in 1995. “You need to have a passion for this career. With a degree in accounting you can get a job anywhere in the world because anyone needs an accountant,” said Nelcol.

Other speakers included Charles Bogguess representing NABA chapter in Westchester/Connecticut, and from The College of Westchester, Prof. Max Torres and Prof. Anne Bikofsky, also serving as faculty advisors at NABA.

The National Association of Black Accountants was founded in December 1969 to address the professional needs of its members and to build leaders who shape the future of the accounting and finance profession with an unfaltering commitment to inspire the same in their successors. NABA, Inc. has over 5,000 members across the country and more than 49 chapters.

So, what do you think ?
